Home Again

Oh, how quickly life resumes to normal. On my way home from Maine I stopped off in Wisconsin for four fabulous days of knitting camp. My third summer in a row, it was wonderful to spend time with friends old and new. What more could a girl want than to be able to knit all day (and all night) long, all the while sitting in a veritable knitting shop, surrounded by intelligent and creative knitters?
While out of town a good friend had her second child, a baby girl, so for a weekend project I knit EZ's gull stitch baby sweater from Knitter's Almanac (a charming read--I love her descriptions of camping and fishing with The Old Man). While her original (which I was able to have right in front of me!) was made of Shetland, I couldn't wait until Saturday morning for the first order delivery of the weekend and instead picked from the table some Berroco Ultra Alpaca. While it knit up at a larger gauge, the fuzzy softness appealed to me and I think it will make a nice little first sweater.
