These Zigzags are headed to a school auction. Finally, I am doing the auction thing correctly: it's my own pattern, so no copyright/permission issues.

For this pair I used Claudia Hand Painted Yarn, fingering weight, color Pistachio. The green is more visible in person. This is lovely yarn, handpainted on a Louet base. This color had shorter color changes than a previous color I had used, and I like the look of this pair better.

If you look closely, you'll see a little green frog hiding behind the fern. He's plastic. Whether he was intentionally placed by someone or accidentally left behind by a child, it was a fun surprise to find him hiding there.

I've been wondering about the Claudia base... I have a pair of socks made in her yarn that I washed in the same tub as a Louet pair, and they're noticeably different. The Louet gets really fuzzy and soft in its bath (and tends to fuzz more in general); the Claudia doesn't. Both labels claim the yarn is South African merino, so I'd always assumed they were the same, but handling the finished socks I'm really beginning to wonder...
