For my birthday in October my friend Sarah gave me a sweet little owl, to add cheer (and hopefully bring wisdom) to my desk at work.

Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later I found
this lovely bag draped across my desk:

Not only a smart knitter, Sarah is a clever sewer.
Complete with gussets in a beautiful, vintage
pattern and a hand-sewn bunny with fuzzy tail,
it is a fabulous knitting bag.

There's even a large pocket inside for holding notions or
patterns (or chocolate), cleverly divided by a button.
Thank you, Sarah! I love it!

My grandmother collected owls, and I've been partial to them
ever since. Here's another, given to me by my sister, made by
one of the school parents and her daughter:
Here's the desk owl, in its native habitat:

Hoot!
